My 2003 BMW Z4

Hey, I am Jeph from Michigan, USA. 我在中国住了二十多年。疫情之前每年至少回国一次。因为美国车买的便宜，而且我经常回去，所以我在美国也有一辆汽车。

我从第一次看了第一批的BMW FILMS就觉得Z4特别帅。那辆车的线条特别的smooth, organic, flowing and connected. 细节非常多and所有的lines都有用，一点都不多余。

但是我特别确定我要一辆深灰色的、手动挡，而且不要顶配，因为我觉得那些电子的设备早晚就会坏。我选的车座椅和敞篷都是手动的。

我从2008年开始在eBay上找二手车。找了几个月之后，终于找到了一辆合适的。我本来想在美国买车然后把车运到中国，但是发现运过来太贵了，不过把车留在美国也不错。

我09年买的，花了9万人民币左右。我还在中国的时候发给Chicago郊区的二手车车行一个定金。我回国之后第一天带着一车的人---我妈妈和她的朋友，我妹妹和她的男朋友，在一个van开了4个小时去提车。

买车之后我和那辆车去美国的大部分的州和大城市-Maine, New York, Maimi, Las Vegas, San Francisco and up to Seattle, that Z4 has seen it all and everything in between. 开了这么多，我的Z4也没有过accident，我非常的感谢我的Z4一直对我这么好。

在美国买配件不太贵，但是改装店的费用很高，所以我车所有改装的都是在我车库自己做的。保养车我还是去BMW 4s店做，他们价格不错，待遇也非常好。

我改的东西都是在门口，有时候自己，有时候跟朋友做的。

因为我该转都是DIY我选的的配件都是我自己能安装的。再说，我的老款Z4没有很多改装的选择，一般只有几个。我好好调查，看看forums and online reviews再选配件。这辆车from the factory已经很不错. 因为车老了我也是等什么东西坏了再换新的.

The suspension, stick shift, floor mats, and lights都是因为原来的太旧了，所以换新的。

我的避震非常满意，车原来的sport suspension不错但是现在的避震什么都能调- caster, camber, ride height, rebound and stiffness都是我自己控制的。

上赛道，一起开一会刹车就会overheat, 安装BMW M3 brake backing plates and designing my own brake ducting route 之后，上赛道二十多分钟都没有问题。

Putting on the lightest rims I could find helped acceleration and handling，再加上米其林P4轮胎这个车操控就是完美的。

到现在我的车就是完美的。looks good, drives good and feels good. 虽然我的车快二十岁但是我觉得比新车还好开。

这个车自带的2.5L 的发动机已经maxed out. 我只能再换发动机。我现在考虑买一辆二手的 3.0L或者3.2L 的发动机。

It’s a dream of mine to invite a few friend to come over for a few days and do an engine swap in my garage.

可惜的是我已经有3年回不去，估计还有至少一年才能回美国。For now, the Z4 is waiting for me in my garage.

She’s still there, waiting for us to go back.
